IT Applications Manager | ANconnect / Anderson Merchandisers | Feb 2008 - July 2016

  • Recruit and mentor a cross functional IT team responsible for new project implementation and ongoing support of diverse warehouse distribution systems. Depending on the project, the team would consist of business analysts, developers, and quality assurance analysts using a wide variety of programming languages including C, C++, Java, and RPG.
  • Integration of packaged software with in house development supporting Manhattan Warehouse Management System for wholesale distribution methods led to efficiencies in labor and processes while supporting many customer specific requirements from major retailers such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Best Buy.
  • Design and coordination of project to implement Walmart’s DSDC shipping methods which reduced shipping costs, claims, and labor by consolidating packages going to multiple ship points into a single shipment to a Walmart DC.
  • Creation of a proprietary retailer returns system reduced costs associated with returns by reducing the number of ‘touches’ to each piece returned and decreased the time lag for financial credits. System is used for in house customers as well as third party logistics returns.
  • Orchestrate a major revision to in house software in support of direct to consumer order processing that led to reduced labor costs and improved on SLA on time accuracy.
  • Integrate acquired US and Canadian businesses into existing systems.
  • Duties included:
    • Mentoring and evaluating team member performance.
    • Coordinating with business users and C-level executives to understand business needs at project inception.
    • Guiding projects through all phases from inception to implementation.
    • Motivating team to hit critical milestones on major projects.
    • Interviewing and selecting new team members.

Lead Developer | Anderson Merchandisers | Aug 2000 –Jan 2008

  • Spearheaded a project to integrate a box handling and labeling system into existing distribution centers which shaved labor costs and improved shipping accuracy.
  • Developed in house RFID label and tracking system for outbound shipments that saved $20,000 compared to the cost of prepackaged software.
  • Part of team that converted in house distributions system to Manhattan Warehouse Management System for expansion of distribution capabilities and increased efficiencies of moving product through a product’s lifecycle.
  • Redesigned multiple interfaces to improve error handling and reporting.
  • Integrated three new distribution centers into existing systems to better serve a major retail customer.
